Andare in bianco... con le scarpe

Per quanto io le ami alla follia devo ammettere che non sono tra le scarpe più facili da indossare. Col nero vai sempre sul sicuro: è elegante e discreto e sta bene con qualsiasi tipo di abito. Il bianco può alludere invece a due situazioni opposte ma ugualmente poco desiderate. Da un lato può farvi sembrare una sposina che sta andando all'altare o, al contrario, una spogliarellista pronta ad esibirsi sul palco. Quest'ultimo paragone mi è stato "confermato" dalla biografia di Diablo Cody, ex stripper e premio Oscar per la sceneggiatura di "Juno". Ad ogni modo, se si superano i sopra citati timori referenziali, delle decoltè bianche possono essere la cosa più fantastica del vostro guardaroba. E di questo è consapevole Sarah Jessica Parker che sta indossando ripetutamente le sue candide Manolo Blhanik a tutti gli eventi possibili. E che dire del paio di Kirsten Dunst calzate con vestito di MiuMiu a quadretti? Tres chic! In più ci sono stati molti avvistamenti di immacolate decoltè alle recenti sfilate Primavera/Estate come da Louis Vuitton, Nina Ricci e Marni. Se questo sarà il grande trend della prossima stagione calda solo il tempo saprà darci risposta. Io intanto giocherei d'anticipo; potrebbero sempre esservi utili se il vostro ragazzo vi chiede di sposarvi. O di farvi un sexy spogliarello...

Even if I like it so much, I must admit that white for shoes is not so easy to wear. With black you're always right: it's elegant and sober and perfect with any kind of dress. White could let you think to two different situations, both undesirable. It may let you look like a bride walking toward the altar or like a stripper waiting to perform on the stage. This comparison has been confirmed by Diablo Cody biography. Anyway if you do not consider these two situations, white pumps can be the best accessory of your closet. And Sarah Jessica Parker knows that because she wore her candid Manolos more than once. And what about Kirsten Dunst white shoes and MiuMiu dress? So chic! Then we saw white shoes also on the latest Spring/Summer catwalks, for instance Louis Vuitton, Nina Ricci and Marni. Just time will say if white shoes are the next big Summer trend. I'd suggest coming early and buy a pair of white pumps; they could be usefull if your boyfriend pops the question; or ask you a striptease...

I'm obsessed with... this book

Probabilmente chi è patita di moda come me dovrebbe fare riferimento al fatto che è in corso la settimana della moda milanese, ma c'è qualcos'altro che mi sta prendendo troppo in questi giorni...Un libro! In realtà non è soltanto un libro, è puro divertimento pagina dopo pagina. Lo sto letteralmente divorando e non vedo l'ora di finirlo per poi fare un confronto con il film. Fare il contrario non avrebbe senso. Mentre lo leggo mi immagino già Sarah Jessica Parker nelle vesti della protagonista Kate Reddy tutta indaffarata a barcamenarsi tra famiglia e lavoro. Non avrei visto attrice migliore di lei per quel ruolo: ironica, intelligente, schietta e anche sexy. Carrie Bradshaw rimarrà per sempre nei nostri cuori ma sono convinta che anche questa volta non rimarremo deluse... Parola di una fanatica di Sarah Jessica...

As everybody knows I am passionate fashion lover, so I should write about the current fashion week in Milan, but there's something else that is really keeping me busy... A book! Actually it's not just a book, it's just fun page after page. I'm literally devouring it and I can wait to finish it in order to watch the movie and make a comparison. The opposite thing wouldn't have any sense. While I'm reading  the book I feel like I can see Sarah Jessica Parker playing the role of Kate Reddy who is really messed-up dealing with the family and her job. I couldn't think someone better than Parker for this part: ironic, smart, honest and even sexy. Carrie Bradshaw will always stay in our hearts but I'm sure than we won't be disappointed by this charachter...Trust  a Sarah Jessica's fanatic...

E' il sogno di ogni giovane stilista: vedere una propria creazione indossata da Sarah Jessica Parker. E se poi gli abiti cominciassero ad essere 2, e poi 3, e poi 4...??? Sarebbe come toccare il cielo con un dito! Ecco perchè Prabal Gurung, designer emergente di Singapore, si deve sentire proprio al Settimo cielo. La più amata delle fashioniste lo ha scelto come suo nuovo pupillo tanto che non c'è una premiere o un evento mondano a cui non presenzi senza indossare uno dei suoi modelli. Le prime avvisaglie di questo "nuovo amore" sono state in occasione del tour promozionale del nuovo film della Parker "I Don't Know How She Does It". 

It's the Dream of every new designer: "being worn" by Sarah Jessica Parker. What if she would chose you not just once, but 2 times, and 3 times, a 4 times??? It would be like touch the sky with a finger! That's why Prabal Gurung, new designer from Singapore, must be in the Seventh Heaven. The most loved fashionista has choosen him like her new pupil and there's no  premiere or social event she doesn't wear a Gurung's creation. First "symptoms" of this "new love story" came from the promotional tour of "I Don't Know How She Does It", SJP's new movie.

Poi è stata la volta dell'ospitata al "Late Show" di David Letterman" dove SJP indossava un meraviglioso completo in block-colours che sembrava rubato direttamente da una puntata di Sex&TheCity. Ma la consacrazione finale è arrivata per la Fashion Night Out di NY: ancora un abito firmato Prabal Gurung, ancora un sexy look alla Carrie Bradshaw. 

 Then there was "The Late Show" where Parker wore a stunning block-colours ensemble which seemed stolen from an episode of Sex&TheCity. But the final consecration came for NY Fashion Night Out: one more Prabal Gurung dress, one more sexy outfit so Carrie Bradshaw.

C'erano una volta un abito viola e dei gioielli di turchesi... e delle star di Hollywood che adoravano questo abbinamento! Potrebbe davvero essere l'inizio di una stupenda favola ambientata nel mondo della moda; di sicuro da piccola l'avrei letta molto più volentieri di Alice nel paese delle meraviglie... Sarah Jessica Parker, nemmeno a dirlo, è stata la prima ad osare questo look colorato e d'impatto nel 2003 e poi dopo di lei sono arrivate tutte le altre; l'ultima in ordine di tempo Jessica Chastain con un bellissimo Oscar de la Renta e pendenti con turchesi. Se fossi in voi, nell'attesa del principe azzurro, mi butterei sulle pietre azzurre: molto più semplici da trovare...

It could be a really wonderful beginning for a fairy tale set in the fashion world; I would have read with more pleasure than Alice in wonderland for sure... Sarah Jessica Parker, obviously, was the first one to dare with this colorful and dreamy look in 2003 and then others movie stars have followed her; the last was Jessica Chastain with a stunning Oscar de la Renta gown and turquoise pendants just few days ago. If were you, waiting for the prince charming, I would choose turquoise stones: they're easier to find...

The power of a pair of socks

Con la Primavera sta arrivando il calduccio ed iniziano così gli arcaici dilemmi: "Che cosa mi metto???". Le nostre nonne direbbero di vestirci "a cipolla" ma secondo me c'è un altro espediente molto più recente e decisamente figo: i calzini a vista. Non importa la lunghezza (possono andare bene alla caviglia o sopra il ginocchio) nè le scarpe con cui si indossano (anche se la versione calzini + sandali è la mia preferita...) nè tanto meno il colore. Unica nota: assicurarsi che non siano bucati...

Spring means beautiful and warm days and so the archaic dilemmas start again:"What shall I wear???". Our grandmas would say to dress "like an onion" but in my opinion there's another way more up-to-date and absolutely cooler: uncovered socks. It doesn't matter the lenght (ankle or over-the-knee lenght are both good) the shoes you wear them with (even if my favourite version is socks + platform...) or the colour. Just one note: assure yourself they don't have holes...
